Hi y’all! Last weekend we had the most amazing citrus-themed baby shower for our little Kaiser and I’m just so thankful for… well, everything! Thankful we could have the shower, thankful for our friends and family that celebrated us, thankful for the congratulatory texts and messages I received, thankful for our growing family, thankful for my supportive husband who is also the best dad and just all-around thankful for the time spent with loved ones. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I’m here to share all the details from our baby shower – what I wore, how my amazing family decorated, the games we played, food we ate, sweets, drinks and how COVID-19 affected us.

MAMA’S OUTFIT
I found this adorable midi dress on a random family day-out visiting Highland Village. During our visit we popped into J. Crew to find Bryan some shirts and I was surprised to find this fun summer dress. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love! The best part is that they were having an in-store sale and I got it for $40 instead of $130 – WHAT A FREAKING STEAL!
Sadly, my dress is sold out but I’m linking other dresses below. J. Crew impressed me with their FUN dresses and I highly recommend taking a look if you’re looking for a unique event dress!

Since the dress was so colorful and bold, I decided to keep my accessories simple. I wore my gold hoop earrings from Kendra Scott, gold necklace that I wear every single day, gold bracelets and Manebí espadrilles, which are seriously the most comfortable flats ever.

DECOR
The one thing I wanted for the shower was a citrus theme. I’ve been seeing lemon themes everywhere and fell in love with the idea of having some kind of citrus party!
My mom got the custom-made balloon garland, jumbo balloons, “OH BABY” balloons and paper tassels from the talented Tiffany with Glamfetti. She is seriously the best and one of the hardest working mamas I know. AND she’s local to Katy!
A family member made the beautiful arrangements that were perfect for the theme! Peep the sliced oranges! If you’re related to or friends with a talented, self-made florist, go with them because florists can get $$$$$$!
My sister-in-law made the welcome sign on Zazzle. I’ve linked the decor pieces I could below.

FOOD & DRINKS
My family did a potluck of food and snacks! There was fruit, veggie sticks with dip, a charcuterie board, sandwiches, chicken roll-ups with taziki on the side and some yummy buffalo chicken dip with chips.
For drinks we can sparkling waters and a lemon-infused water!

SWEETS
This is probably one of my favorite parts of a baby shower because I have the biggest sweet tooth! Caitlin with the Flakey Baker made custom funfetti cookies for the shower and she went above and beyond! The only thing I told her was that the shower was citrus themed and Kaiser’s name; she created everything from there. Caitlin is a stay-at-home mama that bakes everything out of her home in Katy! You can order from her by emailing theflakeybakerorders@gmail.com!
The cake pops and pretzels were made by the Cake Ball-erina located in the DFW area (my side traveled from that area)! Foxes are going to be Kaiser’s animal (Emmett has penguins) and the little fox cake pops were the perfect nod to that.

GAMES
My sister-in-law picked my kind of baby shower games – they didn’t take long and they didn’t put this mama-to-be in any uncomfortable measuring situations 😉 We played “Guess What’s in the Diaper Bag” and “The Price Is Right”. She got the game sheets from this shop on Etsy!

HOW COVID-19 AFFECTED THINGS
COVID-19 didn’t shut the party down BUT it did affect a couple things. First off, we were actually planning on hosting the baby shower at a winery near our home. That was nixed since the winery shut down due to the second-wave of shutdowns and regulations. Secondly, the guest count was lower.
Here’s the deal though – we were still able to have the party and we were still surrounded by friends and family! That’s really more than I could ask for! Most of the guests that stayed away due to COVID-19 or for other reasons showered us with congratulatory texts and messages. All-in-all COVID-19 didn’t damper the day and I’m happy we were able to have what we did!
Phew! If you made it this far then thank you for reading!! Comment your favorite part of baby showers below!
Have a great day!!
