Hi, y’all! I’m towards the end of the third trimester and so excited to be sharing my last bumpdate with you! AND MY MATERNITY PHOTOS!
THIRD TRIMESTER BUMPDATE
NAME: Kaiser Wayne Kaase!
HOW FAR ALONG: currently 37 weeks and 3 days
DUE DATE: September 29th I have an induction scheduled for September 23rd
HOW MAMA IS FEELING: Overall – GREAT! I’m beyond ready for Kaiser to be here and I’m just about over being pregnant. I love pregnancy and I’m thankful for it. BUT everything has just gotten very uncomfortable lately and I’m ready for the next stage!
BIGGEST STRUGGLE: Pelvic pains at night. I get up at least 3 times every night to go pee and it’s getting more painful by the night. It’s probably because my body tightens up a ton when I sleep. I swear I can feel my pelvis growing at night!
MOST LOVED PREGNANCY MOMENTS: I love watching Kaiser move around most! I take in those moments even more this time and can imagine him a easier than I could with Emmett.
CRAVINGS: This baby has been wanting every sweet thing out there! Chips A’hoy, ice cream, tiramisu, berries, cereal… the list goes on and on. I’m pretty sure I had Bryan make me a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch with milk and nutella the other night.
BABY MOVEMENT: Baby Kai moves all the time and kicks just about every organ in there lol!
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THIS PREGNANCY AND THE LAST: During my first pregnancy I interned and finished my Master of Social Work when I was 6 months pregnant and continued working full-time until I was 8 months pregnant. Obviously, I stayed busy!
Now I’m a stay-at-home mom to my toddler and have to confess that being pregnant with a toddler is a whole different kind of ACTIVE! I’m constantly picking her up, bending over to clean toys up, squatting down or holding her. I wasn’t doing those movements nearly as much during my first pregnancy. On the other hand, I’m able to sit down and rest whenever I need to now whereas I stood a ton while I was working full-time and couldn’t just rest when I needed.
At the end of the day, every pregnancy is different and I’m happy I get to take it all in step-by-step!
REGISTRY: Find my complete registry list for baby #2 here!
NURSERY: Check out our shared baby+toddler room here!
HOW EMMETT IS DOING: She is busy being a toddler and, although I’m sure she notices a few changes, is mostly oblivious of what’s about to hit here lol! We call her big sister, refer to her brother’s things as “Kaiser’s” and gave her a baby of her own to take care of to hopefully help with the transition a bit.
This is random but I’m letting her keep the paci for a while. Our pediatric dentist suggested hold off on weening her off of it since she is about to go through a huge change and since this year has been full of changes with the pandemic.
HOW BRYAN IS DOING: I think he’s just trying to survive the third trimester right now 😉 Seriously though, he’s anxious about going through the newborn stage again but also excited to finally meet Kaiser!
The wonderful Mandi with Mandi Thompson Photography did our maternity photos in Galveston and I’m in love with them. You can see other photos done by her here, here, here and here!
If you’re thinking of a beach photo shoot, GREAT! You need to know that the beach is not your regular location though. Keep reading for a few tips before you take on a beach photo shoot!
First off, the beach is about as anti-hair-and-makeup as it gets. Sand, wind, water… it’s just not a good mix for being dolled up! My hair was down with every piece curled to perfection only to have it all blown out within 3 minutes of being there. I recommend doing some kind of half-up-half-down style, braid or pretty ponytail to secure loose hair – especially the ones around your face! I felt like I had hair in my face the whole time and think securing it would’ve helped.
Get ready to shoot around and in front of people. Our shooting location was a secluded beach but there were still people everywhere. I don’t know how Mandi made it look like we were the only ones there but shout out to her for getting it done!
Embrace the water and sand! Your dress, your feet and definitely your toddler will be wet and covered in sand by the end of the shoot. It is what it is!
Floral Dress: part of Mandi’s client wardrobe
Pink Dress: Sexy Mama Maternity (thank you for gifting this dress!)
Thanks so much for reading my third trimester bumpdate and just for being here. Have a great weekend!
