• The Kaases’ Shared Toddler and Baby Room Reveal

Hi, y’all! I’m so excited to reveal our shared toddler and baby room that’s also a co-ed kids’ room! I’ve been working on it all summer and I’m really happy with how it turned out 🙂 WHY MY BABIES ARE SHARING A ROOM Our home has 3 bedrooms and we currently have a room dedicated to Bryan and I, the kids and our guests. Visitors stay overnight at least once a month so I decided to see how having Emmett and Kaiser sharing a room goes… for now! We will switch the room situation up once they get older or when we move eventually. HOW I DECIDED ON DECOR Let…

  • Hello, New Cabinets!

Our cabinets are officially done! Well, I might add pulls but that’s for another day 😉 We transformed our kitchen cabinets from an warm-colored wood to a gorgeous grey. The specific paint color we used was Agreeable Grey by Sherwin Williams. Scroll down to shop the materials we used, learn what we did step-by-step, see progress pictures, shop our kitchen decor and see the after pictures! MATERIALS The only product I couldn’t link was the paint itself. We used Valspar Cabinet Enamel as the paint base and chose the color Agreeable Gray by Sherwin Williams. DAY 1 First, Bryan took off all of the cabinets with his drill. The most…

  • Dyson Review

    Dyson Review

Hi, there! I’m bursting to finally be able to share this with you! Bryan gifted me a Dyson cordless vacuum for Christmas and I’m in love. I get that a husband gifting his wife a vacuum might sound a little patriarchal but it was actually the best best ever… HAND DOWN. Now that Emmett is crawling everywhere, it’s super important to keep the floors clean by vacuuming and swiffering frequently. Hauling our old heavy vacuum and bouncing from outlet to outlet with the cord was one of the most annoying things ever so this cordless vacuum was very welcomed. Since we got the Dyson V8 Animal cord-free vacuum, vacuuming is…

  • Office + Playroom Reveal

Hello! WE. HAVE. FINALLY. FINISHED. THE. OFFICE/PLAYROOM!!!!!!!!!! You can bet your bottom two that I’m excited because this was the project that never stopped giving… me stress haha! On a serious note, I couldn’t be happier with the way our office + playroom makeover turned out and I’m thankful we were able to make the space more functional.  The biggest part, which was a paint-lift and shiplap wall, took the least amount of time surprisingly. We managed to knock that part out in 2 days – scroll down to see how we got the shiplap wall done! After the room was given a “paint-lift”, it was time to decorate. I…

  • Welcome to Our Home: Holidays 2019

Hi! Welcome to our home decked with farmhouse Christmas decor! I’ve actually been sitting on this post for weeks and I can’t believe it. Ay, ay, aaaay! It’s officially December though so let’s just all act like this was planned 😉 We decorated our house a couple weeks ago and I love it! I changed things up a bit by adding ribbon to the tree instead of tinsel, snow on the mantle and garland above the kitchen cabinets. We eventually moved some of the snow and nativity set because our sweet little Emmett grabs everything she can reach. Needless to say, baby proofing is in full force around here! When…

  • The Only Time I Decorate with Orange + 4 Ways I Change Seasons 🧡

Hi, y’all! Fall is quite literally around the corner (first day of Fall is Monday!) and the Kaases finally got on board with adding some orange to the house. I’m sorry, but it’s just not a color I decorate with so fall is it’s time to SHINE. Changing seasons is fun to do, but I love, love, love being able to do it easily. Here are some ways that I bring a new season into our home stress-free! Pick a nook to make dedicated to the season! For us, it’s a handmade (thank you, Bryan!) wooden piece that I have under a window in the living room! I’ve added some…

  • The Spice Is Back + Where to Donate Clothes in Houston!

Hi, y’all! I’m baaaack! Two weeks ago I decided to plan out the rest of the year without worrying about putting out content for two reasons: I wasn’t inspired to write and refuse to kick out content for the sake of kicking out content. Anytime I do that, I start feeling… well, disingenuous, exhausted from “keeping up with the Jones” and, quite frankly, sh*tty. Pressing pause to take myself out of the blog and plan out what is to come keeps me motivated, focused and my eye on the prize, which is creating fun things to read at your 2pm END OF SUMMER CLOSET CLEAN-OUT The last two weeks have…

  • My Top Registry Items

Good morning! The picture above (captured by none other than Bryan himself) is a BTS shot from our maternity shoot this weekend and I CAN’T FREAKING WAIT to see the actual pictures! If you need a maternity photographer, go check out Aimee Hamilton because she is seriously amazing. Now, let’s talk registry items. I swear that I have been living in a black hole of setting up nursery items, a never-ending pile of laundry and buying/exchanging things that we still needed. Creating a nursery and getting a registry together is both super fun and extremely overwhelming. I had no idea what a travel system was, how many bottles to add…

  • It’s Officially Fall at The Kaases’ House!

HEEEEEY, Y’ALL! Is anybody else super thankful that fall is here?! In Houston it’s never cold, but it did conveniently cool down recently and it is SO WELCOME! I made a trip to my favorite stores for some bargain shopping on fall decor, and I. AM. IN. LOVE! Typically I don’t gravitate to orange, but for whatever reason this year I have been loving the combination of blue and orange sprinkled in with some greenery around the house. I also found a way to fill the mantle more, which is something that needed to be done since my lovely husband kept on using it as his end table (still love…
