Hey, 2020! Let’s Do This!

Hi, there! I took a little break from writing to spend time with family so we have lots to catch up on! Scroll down to see what we’ve been up to lately.

Here is everything I wore, Emmett’s milestone mat and some of Emmett’s outfits in these photos below ^^

Emmett Turned 9 Months

2019 brought me my greatest title yet – MAMA. The last nine months have flown by but, at the same time, the days sure seemed to go by slow. I remember having a couple (lol okay, okay – maybe twice… or three times a week) meltdowns because I still had 2 hours until Bryan got home to help out with our little newborn. THOSE WERE THE DAYS! Hormone roller-coaster, throbbing nipples, zero freedom, no sleep and gallons of coffee. But my little 9-month chunk makes it all worth it and I’d do it all over again for her.

Becoming a mama has taught me a lot of things. I’ve learned to be more patient when my timeline doesn’t stay on track. I’m letting loose a little bit more and not dying over a messy house. I’ve figured out how to have less panic during a sh*tty (literally) situation and more humor. Bryan and I leaned on each other more than we ever have. The list could seriously go on and on and on!

I’m just grateful for every day that I have with our Emmett and love seeing her grow more and more by the second. As of today, she’s crawling from room-to-room, pulling up on furniture, getting 3 more teeth (that’ll make 7 total!), eating pretty much everything except honey, taking about 4 bottles of formula and talking in baby gibberish.

3 Christmases + Infinite Memories

Holy smokes – the holidays were a whirlwind! Bryan, Emmett and I had 3 official Christmases and another family get-together with our cousins. Emmett got more than enough toys and, naturally, only wanted to play with the empty boxes hahaha!

I loved getting to spend the holidays with my family but I think that my absolute favorite part was bringing my parents to our church. My family didn’t come from an area that was anywhere near as religious as the good ol’ South so I didn’t grow up going to church with my family. As an adult, I dove into my faith and find myself getting closer to Jesus every day. It was amazing to share Him with my parents and for them to get to see where we worship on Sundays.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Last night I heard an NYE host say “welcome to the roaring ’20s” and that’s when it really settled in that we’re in a new decade. I hadn’t given much thought to it before that moment and now I can’t stop imagine people rocking flappers, long cigarettes and jazz hands lol

Seriously though, I’m excited to see what 2020 and this new decade bring. I’m focusing on building my relationship with Christ through prayer, worship and gratitude, putting my laundry away the same day I do it (no, I’m not joking about this), exploring my community and fueling my body.

Well, that’s about it for now. Thanks for reading if you hung in this long. Hope you enjoyed and have a great 2020! LET’S DO THIS!!!
