Weekend Roundup: One Last Christmas, Our Menu + Things I’m Loving

Hi y’all,

Well, we’re only 11 days into 2021 and things are already tense in the nation. I’m praying that our leaders and neighbors are able to find peace sooner than later and stop tearing each other apart. Tonight I’m reading and basing my prayers from these Bible verses:

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14 – praying for humility
  • 1 Timothy 2:1-5 – praying for our nation’s people
  • Romans 13:1 – praying that we seek God’s authority first
  • Proverbs 14:34 – praying to seek righteousness
  • Ephesians 4:31-32 – praying that we rid anger and wickedness

My walk with Christ hasn’t been a long one but every day I work to get a little more comfortable with turning to Him first. One way of doing that is finding verses that relate to what I’m dealing with TODAY. For me, it’s as simple as googling for verses, jotting down 3-5 and diving into the scripture surrounding those. If you have a favorite way of growing faith, shoot me a DM on Instagram. I would love to hear it!

On a brighter note, our family was able to celebrate Christmas one last time over the weekend. Some of our family was extremely sick over the holidays so we weren’t able to get together until now but better late than never, right?? I’m happy it worked out this way though because 2021 needed some Christmas cheer!

Toddlers may be a LOT to parent but gosh they make holidays fun and oh so eventful. One of them is always doing SOMETHING to laugh at – eating stamps, running around giving the adults heart attacks because their heads barely miss the countertops, talking gibberish… the list goes on and on lol! Here are some photos from the get together!

On the Menu This Week

On Sunday I made the EASIEST shredded barbeque chicken and literally just put chicken breasts covered in a Texas barbeque sauce with 2 tablespoons of butter in the crockpot on low for 6 hours. It shredded easily, was tender and had plenty of juice to it. Pair it with any veggie and you’re done!

Today I’m making a crockpot beef stew and later this week chicken fried rice and skinny cheeseburger casserole are on the menu.

Things I’m Loving Lately

This foundation has been a favorite of mine lately! It’s a foundation stick and can be applied by dotting your entire face and blending or by swiping a dense foundation brush across the top and blending it that way. It gives me full coverage that can be built on for problem areas and is moisturizing enough for these winter months.

My Spanx leggings are always a favorite during Texas’s colder months. They can be styled casually, dressed up or worn to work. Truly, a versatile staple for anyone’s closet. I sized up to a large and have been able to wear them during pregnancy, postpartum and after comfortably.

This tie-dye Amazon dress! It’s comfortable, under $25 and mom-friendly… meaning it won’t show anything when I’m chasing Emmett around in public! I sized up to a large and it has a loose-fitted fit.

My Aerie sweater is always a fav. It’s comfortable, affordable and the quality is good enough to handle MANY washes! Ya know… #Kids. I’m wearing a medium and the fit is oversized.

Hope y’all enjoyed and have great week!
